Resolutions 2023

2022 was ridiculously busy. There was almost never a month we weren’t either out of town or planning something. It was just kind of insane when I realized that we had every month going someplace or doing something. Here are some highlights! WE HAD A WEDDING We celebrated with so many of our good friends & family! It was a LOT of work planning a Indian wedding in Boise. We had to plan 3 separate events: a mendhi ceremony (we ended up having to get someone from Las Vegas to FLY in for this!), a haldi ceremony (rearranged due to airplane schedules) and the wedding itself. Finding a Hindu priest in Boise was an interesting experience as well. Everything went well except for the very last minute snowstorm that occurred that week that pushed all our activities inside instead of outside. Lots of Travels Just a highlight of places we ...(Read More)

Resolutions 2022

Jeez, if 2020 was a shit show of a year 2021 was the year of monumental change. I know a lot people are doing that right now. People have moved, made big career decisions, started families, and so I’m in the same boat as many other people. The year felt shorter than the last year and I don’t know why though. The pandemic just feels like it’s ongoing forever but at least I feel things are now moving forward in my own life. Married Mel The big highlight of the year was marrying Mel. She’s now officially (but not in all legal documents yet) Mel Dhaimade! We were actually going to do a courthouse wedding but they told us that courthouse wasn’t open and that it would be over zoom so we said fuck it and had a small ceremony at Lake Merritt. We exchanged garlands and had our friend ...(Read More)

Resolutions 2021

Ooooh man. 2020 was a shit show of a year. The pandemic caused huge shock waves throughout all our lives and the entire year has been a clusterfuck. At least the Democrats have the White House so no more Trump news for the next 4 years (at least not just him complaining or something). We had a whole trip to Japan canceled but otherwise I’m lucky that I didn’t lose my job or get sick or anything. I didn’t take that much vacation and only realized in November that I should at least time some time off so I staycationed kind of hard near the end. So let’s just go over some things that happened this year. Moved in with Mel The biggest news of the year is that I moved in with Mel. We live in a nice 2 bedroom apartment in Oakland now. After a month or two ...(Read More)

Resolutions 2020

I don’t even know what I can say happened in 2019. It’s the fucking end of the decade but I’ll see about that change in decade thing in another post. But let’s focus on 2019. This year was mainly an evolution of my relationship with Mel. First International trip with a Partner I used to travel solo mainly, then sometimes with groups, but somehow it worked out that I have never actually traveled internationally with a partner. That has changed! Mel and me took our first trip to Mexico City together. I had been before so we had to figure out things that would be good to repeat and visit new together. We had lots of fun, had a fight or two (and talked it out), and I learned my Spanish is shitty compared to Mel who would talk up taxi drivers. We’re going to Japan next year so we’ll ...(Read More)

Resolutions 2019

I don’t even know what to talk about in 2018. The year has gone by in a blaze so fast that I can’t even recall what was going on. I’ve been on multiple international trips, multiple new national parks, and met a lovely woman are probably the main highlights. Group Adventures and connecting with old friends I think this years has been hallmarked most by connecting with friends on epic adventures. More so than before especially as people start moving apart and being busy with their own lives I’ve wanted to connect back. I did an awesome 2 week trip to New Zealand with Jared, Shandy, Alan, and Ashlii. I went camping and caving with an long time friend Melissa. Multiple weekend excursions to Los Angeles, Santa Fe, Belden, Big Basin, and countless other little adventures always with some friends that make the journeys so much better. Turning 30 I ...(Read More)
